Kehua Joins Hands with Clinton Foundation of HIV/AIDS Initiative |

According to the former US president Bill Clinton in a news conference on Jan 12(EST), Shanghai Kehua, together with US Chembio, Israeli Orgenics, subsidiary of Inverness Medical Innovations, Indian Qualpro, became one of the four global suppliers of AIDS rapid tests for the Clinton Foundation. It is another breakthrough of Kehua since it became the global suppliers of WHO and UNICEF.
Dr. Wangman, deputy manager and director of Kehua, stated in the news release that Kehua, recognized as one of the biggest China"s diagnostic reagent companies, is dedicated to the anti-AIDS/HIV campaign in China and the world at large.The rapid tests of the four companies have passed WHO evaluation, indicating that their products have reached the maximal sensitivity and specialty criteria. According to the relevant agreement, the four companies are entitled to supply the rapid tests for the Procurement Consortium of Clinton Foundation in 50 countries. Globally 90% of 40 million HIV/AIDS-carriers are reportedly unaware whether they are affected. Thereby, the rapid promotion of rapid tests is of vital importance to AIDS/HIV prevention and treatment. To reach the target, at least 200 million tests must be carried out in the developing countries in the four years to come. Background: Since 2002, Clinton Foundation has initiated a large-scale and integrated program of rescue, treatment and prevention by establishing a partnership with 20-plus countries in Africa, Caribbean Sea Area and Asia. The Foundation has offered technical and financial assistance to the program, headed by the local governments. The Foundation also offers a cost-saving HIV/AIDS treatment drugs and diagnostic reagents for a total of 50 countries.
